API Food Fight Club

We are proud to have finished hosting the inaugural CID Block Party. Over 700 friends and neighbors joined us under I-5 last night to celebrate Asian Pacific Americans in the arts, dancing and singing and laughing together. We greatly enjoyed spending those hours with all of you. At the same time, however, our hearts are heavy.

You have probably already heard about the loss of a great leader in the Chinatown International District and greater national API community. API Food Fight Club sends our sympathies to everyone mourning the death of Uncle Bob. We too are saddened by the loss of such an important part of our community, someone who inspired our very existence as a group.

We are inspired by Uncle Bob’s ability to unite all members of our communities and mobilize them towards a brighter future. It is in his memory that we continue our work to make Chinatown International District a safer, more vibrant neighborhood for everyone. We hope you join us in honoring him by supporting efforts to preserve and develop the CID, lead by groups like InterIm CDA.

Twice a week at Bush Garden karaoke nights, you would’ve been able to watch Uncle Bob crooning golden oldies to a cheering crowd. It’s in his spirit that we’ve decided to sign out with some words as sung by Frank Sinatra.
