Dear Everyone,

API Food Fight Club stands with our communities fighting for the lives of Black people across this country. We know that the rights and opportunities that we have as Asian and Pacific Islander Americans were gained sometimes in solidarity with Black community movements, and other times at their expense.

Let there be no confusion, we are not just here to throw parties, we are an organization founded on the intersection of arts and social justice. We see no other path but to stand in solidarity with movement leaders including calling for Seattle to defund SPD. Join us by signing the petition at tinyurl.com/defundSPD as individuals or tinyurl.com/defundSPDorg as an organization.

On another note, as many of you have probably guessed, we are not hosting a CID Block Party this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are exploring other ways to engage API-A communities and the arts this summer while centering Black voices during this time, so stay tuned for possible collaborations or virtual events.

Thank you for your support and for your commitments to combating anti-Blackness in the world, especially in our own API communities. We urge you to have difficult conversations at the dinner table this summer.

Eat good, do good.

Sincerely,

API Food Fight Club Directors
